Our Community
Nestled in rural western Oregon, Alpha Farm is a thriving intentional community founded in 1972. We are a diverse group of individuals dedicated to exploring sustainable living, permaculture, and self-sufficiency. We are united by our commitment to income-sharing, creating egalitarian and non-hierarchical structures, and developing our capacity for consensus decision-making in alignment with our Quaker roots. Our community strives to provide a nurturing environment where members can explore holistic living, ecological stewardship, and communal values.

Life at Alpha
Alpha Farm takes on a slower pace than city living, but we still manage to keep plenty busy. Between tending our garden and grounds, caring for our animals, harvesting firewood, working as local USPS delivery route couriers, and developing several other business ventures, there is no shortage of things to get done. And yet, there remains plenty of time for leisure; to play, create, share meals, enjoy the natural richness that surrounds us.
Our Location
We are fortunate to live in a beautiful valley within the Coastal Range, a temperate rainforest along the Oregon Coast. We share the valley with Elk, deer, and bear, and countless other creatures.

Despite being rurally-located, Deadwood is a very welcoming community, and Alpha enjoys good relationships with our neighbors.
